Daniel Sterns, a loadmaster from the 1st Special Operations Squadron performs pre-flight checks for a 1st SOS MC-130H Combat Talon II before a formation flight on Kadena Air Base, Japan, May 14, 2015. The 1st Special Operations Squadron operates the MC-130H providing infiltration, exfiltration, and resupply of special operations forces and equipment in hostile or denied territory. By conducting formation flight, aircrews and maintainers test and validate their ability to efficiently generate aircraft and to quickly infiltrate and exfiltrate large numbers of ground forces.
