Gold Thunder 2.0 prepares special tactics combat mission support team for real world operations
Members from 320th Special Tactics Squadron Gold Team establish a 24-hour special tactics operations center and forward operating logistics hub during exercise Gold Thunder 2.0 at Camp Hansen, Japan, June 23, 2015. The combat mission support personnel from the 320th STS Gold Flight are required to deploy as a mobile command and control and logistical sustainment element in order properly operate alongside Special Tactics operators in the field. Gold Thunder 2.0 is a humanitarian assistance/disaster relief scenario exercise put together to train the combat mission support personnel in land and water navigation, establishing a special tactics operations center and a forward operating logistics hub along with other skills such as all-terrain vehicle qualification training, Krav Maga training and exfiltration capabilities with rotary wing aircraft.
