Jump training conducted at Kadena's Ridout DZ
U.S. Air Force servicemembers descend toward the airfirld during paradrop training at the Ridout drop zone July 9, 2020, on Kadena Air Base, Japan. Paradrop training is designed to maintain the readiness of search & rescue units and other U.S. forces to support commitments to the defense of Japan, to meet U.S. obligations under the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security, and to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific. The bilateral agreements allow for the use of Kadena AB as an alternate location when Ie Jima is not available to meet the immediate training needs of U.S. forces. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
