SOG Airman promoted for exceptional performance

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Leaders from the 353rd Special Operation Group delivered an early holiday present to Staff Sgt. Kelsey Kent, a power production specialist with the 353rd Special Operations Support Squadron, here Dec. 20 by promoting him to technical sergeant through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program.

Each year, a limited number of STEP promotion slots are released each year throughout the Air Force to promote outstanding individuals to staff sergeant, technical sergeant and master sergeant.

Sergeant Kent was given by his new stripes by Col. Brad Sullivan, the 353rd SOG commander, and Chief Master Sgt Gregg Jones, the 353rd SOG command chief master sergeant, for his exceptional performance while serving as a staff sergeant.
