SOG master sergeants selected for promotion Published March 10, 2011 KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Four master sergeants from the 353rd Special Operations Group were selected for promotion to senior master sergeant here March 10. The selects are: Thomas Barefoot, Detachment 3 of the 25th Intelligence Squadron, Derek Love, 353rd SOG Quality Assurance, Christopher Pippens, 1st Special Operations Squadron, and Kirk Ritter, 353rd Special Operations Maintenance Squadron. Air Force officials selected 1,274 of 12,378 eligible master sergeants for promotion to senior master sergeant for a selection rate of 10.29 percent. The average score for those selected was 665.57, with an average time in grade of 4.30 years and an average time in service of 19.76 years. The average score was based on the following point averages: 134.98 for enlisted performance reports, 20.92 for decorations, 64.34 for the Air Force supervisory examination and 392.25 board score. Those selected for senior master sergeant will be promoted according to their promotion sequence number beginning in April 2011.
