What is your favorite part about your job?

Every day is something different. We do amazing things at the squadron, and everyone has a huge part in the success of the mission. Taking care of the people and making sure we are able to be ready to support the largest area of responsibility in the world is an extremely important aspect of what we do. Air Force Special Operations Command’s mission set here is one that keeps us busy and challenges us on a day-to-day basis.

Career/Personal goals:

I will make master sergeant next year and complete my bachelor’s degree in business administration.
What is most important to you? My family is the most important thing to me. I have a wonder 10 –year-old son named Aiden and the most beautiful 10-month-old girl named India. My wife Krista is the glue that keeps my family together and stole my heart the first time we met. Even after 13 years of marriage, whether it is a long deployment or just a short weekend TDY, she always sees me off and cries every time. They are not the little tears hidden by sunglasses, but the big ugly cry that shows me how much she loves me.

What makes TSgt Kenney the Batcat Spotlight?

Sergeant Kenney sponsored my family (4 dependents and dog) and me during our recent PCS from Kirtland AFB, N.M. During the PCS process and while my family and I were still stateside, he kept in touch with us, answering questions, providing advice, and setting up our new mailbox. Upon arrival, he got us to lodging and had the room stocked with some groceries to get us started. He was kind enough to shuttle us around the base to show us around, to shop for cars, register kids for school, and in process the base. He offered to watch our kids, so that my wife and I were able to get our SOFA licenses on the same day. He also helped get our dog to and from the vet for registration. TSgt Kenney definitely went out his way to ensure a smooth transition for us and set a good example as a sponsor for me for the future.
