  • Published

Name: Staff Sgt. Gregory Johnson

Squadron: 353rd Special Operations Group Staff
Job and duty title: Quality Assurance Inspector

Hometown: Allentown, Pennsylvania

Time in Service: 7 years, 6 months

What is your favorite part about your job? My favorite part about my current job as a quality assurance inspector is being in a position that allows me to slow down and teach other maintainers how to do things properly. I also enjoy being able to observe and work with shops from other maintenance career fields. Sometimes I learn something new myself, which is not something that is often afforded while you are working on the flight line.

Career/Personal goals: My short-term career goal is to make TSgt next year. It will be my second time testing, and I have been studying so I feel confident that I will make it.

What is most important to you? Of course, I would have to say that my family is the most important thing to me. Besides that, I choose traveling, which is something that I have a great passion for.

What makes Staff Sgt. Gregory Johnson the Batcat Spotlight? SSgt Johnson evaluates the quality of maintenance accomplished on the 353rd Special Operation Group’s MC-130 fleet. He serves as one of the primary technical advisory agency in the unit. He assists maintenance supervision to validate workmanship or identify compliance issues impacting mission generation.
